Trying something new!

So since the second of my best friends will be married in less than 6 months.... I am almost a lone man standing! LOL... it's true! So Those of us who are still single, within our group have started a new adventure, however I think it has ultimately turned out worse than we thought.. I started with a new saying, when we're going out... we are out to "be seen" and then my other friend that is embarking on this with me has made a "rule" that we have to try and talk to one person while we're out. BUT here lies the problem... So in the last three weeks we have tried new and different places and what we have found were entertaining to say the least! Finally we thought we had found a place that would be great, we even scoped it out and saw the people who were going in, they looked attractive and dressed nice, so we found something cute to wear and went the nest weekend.... I think disaster follows me. This was terrible, the music was good though. There was so much nonsense going on in  this place I can't even begin. There were  a lot people, but no one who caught my eye. So although I don't want to say I think we've been defeated, but it seems as everywhere we go turns ridiculous. So once again I am at square one and looking for more places. There has to be something nice in a huge city like this.... hopefully I will find it!

High Water, High Times

When it rains in Houston, which is almost always, it tends to flood. You can be sitting at home watching on the news about all these people stranded in gas stations, on the side of the road or wherever there is higher ground. BUT to actually experience this is on a whole different level. Last Friday, I had a planned trip to Dallas, since it was the last day of summer school, I wasn't sure if I could leave early. I ended leaving my apartment around 3 p.m. and not thinking about the rain, I didn't get on the freeway, like I should of.. duh, I took what I was thinking would be faster and not flooded. Boy was I WRONG! What should have taken me anywhere from 15-20 min. took two and a half HOURS!! The water in parts was so high I didn't know if I could make it through... I finally made it to the freeway. of course the entrance was blocked by a police car. I made my way, slowly and almost impossible to a Luby's parking lot, thanks to an 18-wheeler for pushing the water out of the way. Ironically, my parents happened to be in the city and couldn't find a way back to their side of town, so I was surprised to hear they were so close, it was a little easing. So the three of us sat in Luby's for over another two hours, so now I should already be in Dallas by now and I am sitting in a Luby's! AWESOME! Finally I get on the road around 7:30 p.m. and apparently the whole city had to wait, because there were cars all the way! FINALLY I arrived around midnight, exhausted! But Once I was there I had a good time. I got to spend some time with a dear friend, who I miss lots. Went to a comedy club and the headliner was Mark Curry, from "Hangin With Mr. Cooper" It was a good night, hilarious! I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Good times, also he took me to some good restaurants that we don't have here! I'm glad I got up there and had a nice time! Even though I didn't get to see my HUSSY, but I will all in due time, I miss her too!
It was a good long weekend, even though I am on vacation, so every day is a long weekend. haha! Now I am home and there is MORE rain coming, why... I want it to be sunny!

I guess the whole point is just make sure if you have someone you were once close to and maybe have drifted apart, try to make time to see them, even if it's just a phone conversation.... it's good for all parties! :) Have a blessed day

The Saga of late night movies....

Okay, so as most everyone knows, and if not, you must live under a rock that Eclispe, from the Twilight Saga came out today. As always there was a midnight showing the night before it is officially released... I don't normally pile myself into a theater like sardines just to see a movie I know will be out for at least three to five months, but that's exactly what we (meaning my best friends and I) did. We arrived to a packed theater, this paticular one was showing the movie on 12 of the 24 screens, yep that's right. Immediatly as we stepped out of the car.. we were bombarded with teens in fancy Twilight shirts and team Jacob or Edward shirts also.... Of course I wasn't able to escape the sights of students, instantly, I just here my name, over and over, great that's something I really want to hear 1. at midnight and 2. on summer vactation. There were people everywhere, sitting on the stairs, on the floor, lining the windows. This theater had no organizational skills, whatsoever, how do I know this? we arrived around 10:30ish and were soon told that our number theater would be seating, so we walked right in and got pretty great seats and some of those poor people had been sitting there since 6pm, bummer for them, but good for us! I later find out that the lady sitting next to me had paid for some promotional event and had been sitting in the theater since 5pm, she saw the first two movies and then the third... sounds like a long night and my butt would for sure be numb... also, concession food for dinner? Seems like that would be the only choice.. MMMHMMM!
As we sat there for over an hour, we waited closer to the start of the film to get our consessions and potty break, so we wouldn't miss Jacob with his shirt off.. ha ha! Just kidding, he's only 17!
I think the theater forgot to pay the electric bill, it was so hot.. well it could be the fact that there were more people at one time in one small space than on a normal business day. After standing in line for almost 20min. we got back just in time to start the previews! And I just have to add, they are making a Paranormal Activity 2.. Really? That's going to be entertaining...

So to sum up Eclipse without giving away anything, if you haven't read the books, It was the closet to following the books, there were many parts changed or shortened to make more sense on film... Jacob keeps his shirt off for all the squeeling girls :)
I am excited to see how Breaking Dawn will be played out in the two part sequal... It will be interesting.

My adventure to a movie filled with 15-40 year olds was eventful to say the least.. I am just glad there wasn't a rush or mob.. you know these Twlight fans... ha :)

Do I have enough to talk about...

Okay, so when this idea popped into my head about starting a blog, I wasn't sure what I'd write about. But after thinking long and hard.. yea right! I just thought I would document my life, I mean I am a 29 year old high school teacher, who has crazy friends and it seems that it doesn't matter where I go, strange and interesting things seems to follow me, I promise.. I am not kidding! Did I mention I am so sarcastic, sometimes I realize it might be hard to tell when I am joking, not always a good thing.. So here I begin my journey enlightening the world of my life. I can't promise all fun, but it will keep you at the edge of your seat, hope you enjoy this excursion!

So let's start with this dating thing... I seem to have a magnet attached to me and a stamp on my forehead that not only attracts guys that are habitual liars, but must think I am the most naive girl they've ever met! Really, I don't get it! What is it that makes someone want to lie? I'm the type of person I will find out the truth, no matter what.. hello, journalist here, it's in my blood. Let's look at this list of liars... in the last two years there was one who was getting married, but wait before you form your opinions, I had no clue! we dated for almost a year, yes I said year.. before I found out, due to help from friends, but then again I have to admit there were some signs. We did the usual things, going out to dinner, the movies, bars, he even came out for my birthday... but still there just wasn't something right, I think I just didn't want to believe it. I do like to see the best in people, but that clearly isn't working! Then there's the second one, he worked with me and was charming as anyone could be, he even had that "dinging" sound when he smiled, did I mention he made me swoon, only because he reminded me of former Boston Celtics Eddie House... just made me weak! but then again... the lies began to come out, as gossip flows like water through the work place, I heard he moved to Houston for a girlfriend/fiancee, so since I am not like any other girl, I confronted him and asked.. of course it was word vomit coming from his mouth, it only went down hill from there.. not to mention he began seeing another co-worker, which in actuality was "over" both of us, not indirectly, so he used that to his advantage. On to the next one... this one I thought was actually a good catch.. probably because we had some background.. we went to high school together, but didn't really know each other. So here we are 11 years later. I am sure you're wondering how we met back up... of course the root of all evil, Facebook!! So we talked on the phone for hours, just getting to know each other, you know the right way... The weird part is he seemed to be up front about many things in his life.. for the first meeting I met him and some of his friends for drinks one night, we hit it off.. I thought he was awesome and liked the way he treated me.... couldn't stop smiling, it hurt. Over the next few days he flooded my phone with "thinking of you" and "I can't wait to see you again" texts, but as time went on, I began to think he was Criss Angel or something.. every time I had an event to go to or if we had plans he'd go MIA, lose his phone, or just not answer. Ridiculous! After about a month and a half, I found out he lived with the mother of his son, but like I said earlier about being "up-front" with things.. obviously not!
This leads to the present.. once again I am praying and asking God to bring me a Godly man, someone I can grow with. I know he is out there and it's all in God's timing, but I have realized I can not put time and effort in to vagabonds... it only takes away from the person I am suppose to meet. I just have to start hacking the weeds down a little bit faster!
